Nazareth celebrates Independence Day with kazoo parade

Whether you sang a patriotic song Friday or heard
one performed, chances are it wasn't on a kazoo. Unless you were in Nazareth to
celebrate Independence Day. A group of 200 who paraded through the borough
proved America's melodies send the same message whether or not they have
harmony.
The crowd used free kazoos to toot songs such as "The Yellow Rose
of Texas," "Yankee Doodle" and "You're a Grand Old Flag." Their band director,
Todd Silvius, mastered the challenge of keeping the crowd in sync.
"Get ready for the big time," he yelled. "This is what we've been practicing 10 to 15
minutes for."
